When a man is suffering from loss of hair density either as the result of inherited traits of male pattern baldness (MPB), the natural aging process of hair loss or as the result of a medical condition such as thyroid disfunction that has been corrected but the prior prescription medication caused hair loss, there are methods of non-surgical hair restoration.
These non-surgical hair restoration agents will restore loss of hair density as well as stop any further hair loss. These include oral medications and/or agents applied directly to the scalp in the form of a gel or foam.
There are a number of long-standing products available including Finasteride (brand names Proscar and Propecia) used for hair restoration in men with MPB and Minoxidil (Rogaine) that stops hair loss and promotes new hair growth.
These agents have been found to be effective in restoring loss of hair thickness and in slowing and stopping loss of hair. When used they will also promote new hair growth.
Available also is a convenient to use, hands-free LaserCap that promotes hair regrowth and is worn under a hat or cap.
